We are a small reputable breeder of genetically health tested AKC Miniature American Shepherds (previously known as Mini Aussies) located in Southwest Washington. If you are looking for a dog that you can take hiking, paddle boarding, backpacking or a walk around the park and come home and lounge, a Casita puppy is for you! We have a strong focus on health, structure, and well balanced temperaments to ensure an all around high quality dog with low to medium drive and an off-switch.
In your search for a new family member please make sure you are buying from a reputable breeder. Make sure they offer a 2 year or more genetic health guarantee, health screen all of their breeding dogs for any genetic diseases -OFA Hips, OFA eye CERF, DM, HC, HUU, PRA/PRCD, MDR1, NAD- and have their dogs living in a clean environment. You may be paying a little more at first, but it will be less expensive in the long run as your new family member ages. Remember, a new puppy is a 10-15 year commitment.
The most important thing that a potential buyer can do is to find an experienced breeder that they feel they can trust. The breeder you select is probably more important than any other decision you make. A good breeder will not let you buy the wrong dog -- the key is not simply the good intentions of the breeder but also their level of experience. Expect the breeder/seller to quiz you about many of the points mentioned above. Do not take offense. The breeder/sellers are just doing their job to the best of their ability.
